Sala Aliatar: Recogidas' Old Cinema, Live Gigs and a 30-Something Crowd

· Updated:

Sala Aliatar is a club and concert hall in an old cinema at Calle Recogidas 2, in the centre of Granada, Spain, with more than 70 years of history according to its website. It opens from Tuesday to Sunday, mixes live gigs with club nights and, according to several guides, draws a crowd whose average age is around 30.

A quick note before you look it up: 'Aliatar' is also the name of a square in the AlbaicĂn with a well-known sandwich bar. That's a different place. The club is Sala Aliatar, on Recogidas, right by Puerta Real.

An old cinema on Recogidas

Aliatar keeps the bones of the cinema it used to be. The website talks about the soul of that old cinema, renovated inside, with a big stage for concerts and a smaller room, Aliatar Club, which it calls intimate and avant-garde and uses for private events, presentations and themed nights. The building also works as an events venue: it hosts galas, conferences and company parties for more than 400 guests, and the site mentions it held the prelude to the 2025 Goya awards.

Concerts this autumn

The 2026–27 season started on 25 September. The agenda on aliatar.es, checked on 20 October 2026, has gigs almost every week, and tickets for each one are sold on the venue's own site. These were the next dates:

DateArtist / event
Fri 23 OctPatax
Sat 24 OctFascinado Club (themed party)
Thu 29 OctLuca Giordano & VĂctor Puertas (Granada Jazz Festival)
Fri 6 NovMelĂłn Diesel
Thu 19 NovTemples
Fri 27 NovLos Rebeldes

It's a broad mix: rock, tribute bands, indie, flamenco, jazz and urban acts all appear in the programme. The stage is the main room's best asset, and it's why Aliatar is as much a gig venue as a club.

Club nights and Latin music

After the gigs, or on nights without one, it becomes a club. Discoruta and radiokable describe the music as commercial, pop and reggaeton. The website lists Latin music among its styles, alongside rock, tributes and themed parties. Back in 2022 salir.com wrote about 'Latin Thursdays'; we haven't seen a fixed Latin night in the October 2026 agenda, so check the date you want before going for salsa or bachata.

Who goes: the 30-something crowd

Aliatar has a reputation as the club for people in their thirties. Salir.com called it a club 'for over-30s' in 2022 and put the average age at about 30 in 2024, and granadadirect says that if you're around 30 or older you'll feel at home. That's the crowd, not a rule: radiokable describes a mix of university students and a slightly older crowd. The venue doesn't publish a minimum age or a dress code; the usual 18+ with ID applies.

Boxes and Sunday afternoons

There are ten reserved areas and boxes, each for up to seven people with one non-premium bottle included, in what the website calls the best spots in the room. Opening hours, from the website: Tuesday to Thursday 23:00–06:00, Friday and Saturday 23:00–07:00, and Sunday afternoons from 16:30 or 17:00 until midnight. Some Saturdays also open in the afternoon. For New Year's Eve, granadadirect listed €30 with two drinks, without making the year clear.

Getting there

Recogidas 2 is right at Puerta Real, the hinge of the city centre. The nearest metro stop is Alcázar Genil. Granada 10 and Taböa are a short walk away, and Backstage is a few minutes away on Calle Moras.

Before you go

  • Check whether there's a concert that night: on gig nights the stage sets the tone and tickets are sold per event on the venue's site.
  • If you want a box, remember the limit of seven people and the single non-premium bottle included.
  • Sunday afternoons, from 16:30 or 17:00 until midnight, are a gentler plan than a Saturday at 5am.
  • Search for 'Sala Aliatar', not just 'Aliatar', or you'll end up at a sandwich bar in the AlbaicĂn.
