Clubs for Over-30s and Over-40s in Granada: Going Out Without the Students
· Updated:
No club in Granada, Spain, sets a minimum age of 30 or 40, but a few draw a noticeably older crowd: Aliatar on Recogidas (salir.com called it a club for over-30s in 2022 and put the average age around 30 in 2024) and Backstage on Calle Moras (also listed as 30+). Add the afternoon tardeos, 80s and 90s music at La Moderna and the right night of the week, and you can go out without being surrounded by first-year students.

Aliatar: the old cinema with a grown-up crowd
Aliatar is a club and gig venue in an old cinema at Recogidas 2. The venue itself doesn't set any age rule beyond the usual; the older profile comes from salir.com and from Granada Direct, which recommends its New Year's Eve party if you're around 30 or over. It has ten booths and boxes for up to seven people with a bottle, and this autumn's gigs include Melón Diesel and Los Rebeldes.

Backstage: two floors and Friday live music
Backstage, on Calle Moras by Fuente de las Batallas, says it opens every night, has live music on Fridays and a Friday tardeo with a band from 16:30. Sources disagree on its crowd and music (salir.com says electronic and 30+, other directories say hen parties and students), so treat it as mixed.
Tardeo: the easiest option
- Mae West: Saturdays from 16:00 (Sentido Tarde), since October 2026.
- Backstage: Fridays from 16:30, with a band.
- Planta Baja: Plantarde on Saturdays at 16:30, free entry.
- Aliatar: Sundays from 16:30 or 17:00 until midnight.
