Cave Clubs and Alhambra-View Bars in Granada: What's Really Left in 2026

· Updated:

Short answer: as of October 2026 there's no cave nightclub in Granada, Spain, that we could verify. El Camborio, the club in the Sacromonte caves facing the Alhambra that so many guides still recommend, stopped running club nights: its nights account last posted on 13 March 2020 and the venue now only hosts weddings and events. What you can do is watch flamenco inside a Sacromonte cave, have a drink on a terrace with the Alhambra lit up in front of you and finish at Efecto Club, a small club in the AlbaicĂn.

El Camborio: what happened to the cave club

El Camborio, at Camino del Sacromonte 47, was a club built into caves, with views of the Alhambra and, for years, the Erasmus party every Thursday. Its nights had their own Instagram account, @camborionoches, which posted for the last time on 13 March 2020, a statement about staying at home. Today the El Camborio website and its main Instagram account, which is still active, only offer weddings and events. Guides published between 2023 and March 2026 still list it as a club, which is why so many people search for it. If you go up there on a Thursday night, you won't find a party.

Inside a cave today: flamenco in the Sacromonte

The caves of the Sacromonte are still open at night, for zambra, the local flamenco danced inches from the audience. Zambra María la Canastera, at Camino del Sacromonte 89, has a show at 21:30 (24 € with a drink), and Venta El Gallo, in Barranco de los Negros, has passes at 21:15 and 22:30 (from 25 € arriving directly), according to Granada Direct (updated August 2026). It's the closest thing to the old cave-club experience, just with guitars instead of DJs. Everything about times, prices and getting there is in our flamenco night guide.

None of these are clubs, but they're where you go for the view before or after dinner. Opening times change with the season, so check before you climb.

Huerto del Loro is the one that works best for a night out: a long terrace over the Darro, reached by a flight of stairs, with mojitos and beers, and the latest closing time in Granada Direct's guide to the Paseo de los Tristes when it's in season. The Miralba rooftop at the Palacio Gran Vía hotel also has views, but salir.com says it's only open to hotel guests. And the Mirador de San Nicolás itself is a public square: no bar needed for the classic night view.

A real club near the Alhambra: Efecto Club

If you want to dance without leaving the old quarter, Efecto Club is at Cuesta de Santa Inés 4, right by the Carrera del Darro, at the foot of the Albaicín. It's small and intimate, plays house and techno with local and national DJs, opens Friday and Saturday from 22:30 to 04:00 and has a 9 € minimum drink. Some directories list it as closed, but its account was announcing October 2026 dates when we checked.

Getting up there at night

  • Sacromonte: C34 bus from Plaza Nueva, about every 20 minutes.
  • AlbaicĂn and Mirador de San Nicolás: C31 from Plaza Nueva, Carrera del Darro or Paseo de los Tristes, about every 12 minutes; the C32 links the Alhambra and the AlbaicĂn but takes longer to get back to the centre.
  • Single ticket: 1.40 € on all of them (Granada Direct, September 2026).
  • Our source doesn't give last-bus times: check them before a late plan, or walk down via the Carrera del Darro.
