Tardeo in Granada: Where to Go for Afternoon Drinks and Dancing

¡ Updated:

Tardeo in Granada, Spain, is a Friday-to-Sunday afternoon thing: Backstage has live music on Fridays from 16:30, on Saturdays you can choose between Mae West's Sentido Tarde (from 16:00), Plantarde at Planta Baja (16:30, free) and the indie tardeo at Vogues (17:30 to 23:00 on set dates), and on Sundays Aliatar opens in the afternoon until midnight. These are the times the venues published in October 2026.

Tardeo is what Spain calls going out in the afternoon: you start after lunch, have drinks with music and are home, or ready for the night, by midnight. In a student city like Granada it's also the plan for people who work the next day, for groups who don't want a 7am finish and for anyone who likes to dance with the sun still up.

Indie tardeo at Vogues

The best-known tardeo in town is Tardeo Granada, which runs its indie afternoons at Vogues, the two-room club on Calle Duquesa. It's not every week: it came back for the season on 26 September 2026, and the autumn dates are Saturdays 17 October, 31 October, 14 November and 28 November, from 17:30 to 23:00. Tickets are sold on Tardeo Granada's own website, not at the club. Last season it said goodbye on 25 April, so expect it to run through the academic year. If you stay on, Vogues opens its night session at midnight with indie and commercial in room 1 and techno in room 2.

Tardeo in a club: Mae West and Aliatar

Since October 2026, Mae West opens on Saturday afternoons from 16:00 with Sentido Tarde. The opening on Saturday 24 October had tickets from €0 on its ticket page. It's the biggest club in Granada, in the Neptuno shopping centre, so expect a club crowd rather than a bar terrace. On Sundays the plan is Aliatar, on Calle Recogidas next to the Alcázar Genil metro stop: its website gives Sunday hours from 16:30 or 17:00 until midnight, inside a converted cinema with a big stage.

Live music in the afternoon: Backstage and Planta Baja

If you'd rather have a band than a DJ, Backstage, the two-floor club on Calle Moras near Fuente de las Batallas, has a live tardeo on Fridays at 16:30. On Saturdays, Planta Baja, the Horno de Abad venue that has been running since 1989, holds Plantarde at 16:30 with free entry. Both are in the centre, five minutes from each other, so they're easy to combine with tapas.

Ganivet and the centre

Ganivet, the disco-pub on Calle Ángel Ganivet 13, is the easy afternoon option in the centre. A nightlife directory lists it from 16:00 to 03:00, although those hours come from Google and may be out of date, so check its Instagram before you go. It does indie nights and a monthly Sunday party called Clímax. Around it, Calle Ganivet and Calle San Matías are full of pubs, which makes it a good base for a tardeo that turns into a night.

Christmas tardeo and under-18 afternoons

Taböa, in Plaza de Gracia, has already announced a Christmas tardeo called Suite 2.0 with 2000s remember house. For Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, no venue had published a tardeo as of 20 October 2026; we'll add them here and in our New Year's Eve guide when they appear. Under-18s have one option this autumn: UNY Club's afternoon party for 14 to 17-year-olds on Friday 30 October, from 17:30 to 22:00 (€12 with a soft drink). The rest of the tardeos above are adult events.

Tardeo in the snow: Sierra Nevada

From December the tardeo also goes up to Sierra Nevada. According to Estiber's après-ski guide, the afternoon party in Pradollano runs from about 14:00 to 21:00 starting at the main square, and Après Ski Monachil opens its terrace from 15:00. It all depends on the ski season, scheduled to open on 6 December 2026. Our après-ski guide has the details.

A Saturday tardeo route

Because the Saturday tardeos are all in the centre or a short ride away, you can chain them. A realistic route on a Tardeo Granada date: start at Plantarde in Planta Baja at 16:30, when entry is free, walk over to Vogues on Calle Duquesa for the indie tardeo from 17:30, and stay until it ends at 23:00. If you prefer a club atmosphere, Mae West's Sentido Tarde starts at 16:00 in the Neptuno area. On Saturdays without a Tardeo Granada date, the options are Plantarde, Sentido Tarde and Ganivet. Check each venue's Instagram on the day, because tardeo dates move more than night sessions.

From tardeo to night

Most tardeos finish between 22:00 and midnight, which in Granada is exactly when the night begins. Tapas in the centre fill the gap, and from 23:00 or midnight the clubs open: Vogues on the same street if you came from its tardeo, TabĂśa and Granada 10 a short walk away, or a taxi to Neptuno for Mae West and 365.
