Minimum Age at Granada Clubs: What the Law Says and What Each Venue Asks
· Updated:
In Granada, Spain, clubs are 18+ at night. The legal floor in Andalusia is lower: Decree 155/2018 bars under-16s from clubs and lets each venue raise the limit to 18, which is what every Granada club we checked has done. The exceptions are sessions specifically for 14 to 17 year-olds, with no alcohol, and some concerts that accept 16-year-olds. Here's the wording of the rule, the age each venue publishes and what changes on special nights, as checked on 20 October 2026.
What the Andalusian rules say
The rule is in the annex of Decree 155/2018, of 31 July, which approves the catalogue of public shows, recreational activities and public establishments of Andalusia (BOJA no. 150, 3 August 2018). Clubs and dance halls are treated as section III.2.8.a, leisure establishments, which the decree defines, in Spanish, as places with «acceso prohibido a personas menores de 16 años» unless the operator adopts the specific admission condition of barring under-18s, «en cuyo caso regirá esta condición de admisión». In plain English: under 16, never; 16 and 17, only if the club hasn't set 18+.
Section III.2.8.b covers leisure establishments for minors (the old youth discos): access is «permitido sólo a personas menores de 18 años que tengan 14 años cumplidos», and the activity is conditional on «la prohibición expresa de venta, consumo y exposición de bebidas alcohólicas y tabaco». A regular club can host one of these sessions if its licence allows it, but during that time slot anyone over 18 or under 14 is barred. Pubs and bars with music (section III.2.7.c) follow the same pattern as clubs: no under-16s unless the venue sets 18.
The same decree sets the hours: clubs can stay open until 06:00 at the latest (article 17.1.f), one hour more on Fridays, Saturdays and holiday eves (17.2), and establishments for minors at midnight (17.1.g), also with the extra hour on those nights.

New Year's Eve and special nights
Special nights can set their own age. Granada Direct's New Year's Eve guide gives Mae West a minimum age of 23 for its party, but the page doesn't say which year the data refers to, so check the ticket page for 2026. Granada 10 has also held 21+ events (in 2025). Our New Year's Eve guide will list each club's conditions as they're announced.
New Year's Eve in GranadaGigs: where 16-year-olds can go
Concerts are the main door for 16 and 17 year-olds. Industrial Copera allows them into gigs with an authorisation form available on its website, while its club nights are strictly 18+ with named tickets and ID. Sala El Tren's concerts are 16+, but the parties from midnight are 18+. Complejo Embrujo depends on the event: its Halloween Night Festival on 23 October 2026 was billed as 16+.
Sessions for 14 to 17 year-olds
They exist, but they're occasional and they have to follow section III.2.8.b: only 14 to 17, no alcohol or tobacco on sale or on display, and a maximum closing time of 00:00 (01:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and holiday eves). The one we found this autumn is UNY Club's Fiesta Light / tardeo for 14 to 17 year-olds on 30 October 2026, from 17:30 to 22:00, at 12 € with a soft drink. If you see an under-18 party advertised with alcohol, it doesn't fit the rules.
Bring your ID
Industrial Copera explicitly requires ID for its club nights, and named tickets mean the name has to match. The other venues don't spell out which documents they accept, so bring your physical ID or passport and ask the venue if in doubt. We can check the conditions of a specific night for you on WhatsApp.

Under Andalusia's Decree 155/2018, clubs must refuse under-16s and may raise the bar to 18; all the Granada clubs we checked use 18+ for their night sessions. The exceptions are specific sessions for 14 to 17 year-olds and some gigs that accept 16-year-olds.

Yes, occasionally. UNY Club announced a Fiesta Light / tardeo for 14 to 17 year-olds on 30 October 2026, from 17:30 to 22:00, at 12 € with a soft drink. By law those sessions can't sell or display alcohol or tobacco.

06:00, plus one hour on Fridays, Saturdays and the night before a public holiday (Decree 155/2018, article 17). Establishments for minors close at 00:00, or 01:00 on those nights.
