Efecto Club: the Albaicín's Small House and Techno Club

Efecto Club is a small house and techno club at Cuesta de Santa Inés 4, in the Albaicín, a few steps from Carrera del Darro in Granada, Spain. In October 2026 it opens on Friday and Saturday from 22:30 to 04:00, with local and national DJs, a €9 minimum drink and limited capacity. And no, it hasn't closed.

Is Efecto Club closed?

It's a fair question, because some directories list it as closed and a YouTube video from 10 April 2026 is titled 'cierre de Efecto Club'. That video was the closing set of a night, not the end of the club. Its Instagram account, @efecto_club, was announcing Friday and Saturday sessions in mid-October 2026. One more thing to avoid confusion: @efectoclub, without the underscore, is a different brand from Salou.

Small, dark and electronic

Efecto calls itself an 'Electronic Music Club', and salir.com has described it since 2022 as a club with an intimate atmosphere for lovers of house and techno. That's the key difference from Granada's big techno nights: Industrial Copera in La Zubia holds around 1,000 people and books international names; Efecto is a small room in the old town where the DJ is a couple of metres away. The 2024 salir.com article also mentions flamenco and jazz concerts and a crowd of all ages, so it isn't only for twenty-somethings.

Who plays

The line-ups mix local DJs with guests from the national scene, playing house and techno. Each weekend has its own poster on Instagram, which is the place to check who's on before you go. If you're building a techno weekend in Granada, the usual combination is a big night at Industrial Copera or Sala El Tren and a smaller one at Efecto, or Room 2 at Vogues, in the centre.

Hours, price and the door

The hours are earlier than most Granada clubs: 22:30 to 04:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, according to its October 2026 posts. There's no ticketing platform. You pay at the door, with a compulsory minimum drink of €9, and capacity is limited, so on a strong line-up it pays to arrive early rather than at 2am. No dress code is published; it's an electronic club in the Albaicín, so dress comfortably. As in any club, bring ID: 18+.

Getting there

Cuesta de Santa Inés climbs from Carrera del Darro into the Albaicín, close to Paseo de los Tristes. From Plaza Nueva it's a short walk along the river. Bear in mind that the Albaicín's streets are steep and cobbled, so walking, or a taxi to Plaza Nueva, is the practical option.

The Albaicín at night

Part of Efecto's charm is where it is. Carrera del Darro and Paseo de los Tristes, at the foot of the Alhambra, are among the most beautiful walks in Granada at night, and the bars around Plaza Nueva and Calle Elvira make an easy first stop before the club. It's a very different night from Neptuno or Pedro Antonio: older streets and smaller places.
