Granada 10, the Old Cinema on Cárcel Baja: What It's Like, Nights and Gigs

· Updated:

Granada 10 is a club in Granada, Spain, set inside what Grupo Zeppelin, the group that runs it, calls one of the city's most legendary cinemas, at Calle Cárcel Baja 10 next to the cathedral. It holds up to about 1,000 people over two floors and, in October 2026, opens from Tuesday to Sunday with Erasmus Tuesdays and student Thursdays.

From cinema to club

You notice the cinema as soon as you walk in. Grupo Zeppelin, which also runs places like RocknRolla and La Chica de Ayer, describes a large stage, reserved areas and stalls where the seating used to be, and an upper room. That's why its Instagram account is still called granada10teatro. Taquilla.com also calls it the former Boom Boom Room, so if older friends talk about that name, it's the same building. The layout works in its favour: the dancefloor faces a real stage, and the boxes look down from the side like they would at a show.

Two floors and around 1,000 people

Taquilla.com gives more than 800 m² over two floors and a capacity of up to 1,000 people. It's smaller than Mae West, which makes it feel full sooner, and that's part of the appeal on student nights. Tables are sold by floor: in October 2026 the Friday listings offered tables on the lower floor, next to the dancefloor.

DJ nights, gigs and themed parties

The programme mixes resident DJs, live concerts and themed parties, according to taquilla.com, and the stage is there for bands as much as for shows. On a normal club night the music is commercial, as the event listings say, with a lot of reggaeton and urban music according to Discoruta. Promoters also run their own nights here, so the line-up changes from week to week.

Which night to go

Granada 10 is the Erasmus club of the week. Tuesday is the international students' night: on 27 October 2026 it's 'Erasmus Halloween'. Thursday is the student night, with 'Halloween Universitario' on the 29th. Fridays and Saturdays are the general crowd, running from midnight to 07:00. In September it also hosted the Biggest Erasmus & SICUE Welcome Party, on 9 September 2026, which tells you how central it is for new students.

Age and the door

Every event listing for October 2026 says 18+, so bring ID. In 2025 some nights were advertised as 21+, so check the listing of the night you want. The dress code changes with the night: 'casual' on Erasmus Tuesday, 'smart' on Friday and on student Thursday. Radiokable's student guide agrees: they usually ask you to dress up a bit.

Getting there

Cárcel Baja runs along the side of the cathedral, a couple of minutes from Gran Vía de Colón, so you can walk from anywhere in the centre. Aliatar, Taböa and Planta Baja are all within walking distance, which makes Granada 10 an easy stop on a night in the centre.
