What La Chimenea Is Like: the Late-Night Club by the Fire in Pradollano

· Updated:

La Chimenea House Club is a late-night bar and club in Pradollano, at the Sierra Nevada ski resort above Granada, Spain, built around a central fireplace. Last season it opened Thursday to Monday from 8pm to 7am, later than Mango or Sohmo going by their published hours. It only opens in the ski season and returns with the 2026-27 season, expected from 6 December 2026.

The fire, the drinks, the music

The name says it: Estiber's après-ski guide describes La Chimenea as the cosier, more legendary option, with a central fire and a mix of pop-rock. Salir calls it a refined place that was renovated with a lot of style, with a dance floor, proper gin and tonics and the option of ordering champagne. Put together, it is less of a student disco than Mango and more of a place to finish the night with a drink in your hand, close to the fire, after a long day on the slopes.

Its Instagram bio also gives the street: Calle Virgen de las Nieves, the same street as Mango. Its last post of the 2025-26 season was on 22 April 2026. New hours will be confirmed when it reopens.

Status: closed until the season starts

Like the rest of Pradollano's nightlife, La Chimenea only opens when the resort does. ABC reported on 19 October 2026 that the 2026-27 season is planned to start on 6 December. Until the club announces its own date, assume it won't open before then.

Where it fits in the night

Estiber's route starts with afternoon terraces on the Plaza de Pradollano, roughly 2pm to 9pm, and moves indoors from 10pm. Opening at 8pm and closing at 7am, La Chimenea covers both the early drink and the very last one. One possible plan: dinner, a round at La Chimenea, a few hours dancing at Mango or Sohmo, and back to the fire to close. Our après-ski guide has the full map.

Getting up and getting back

Pradollano, in the municipality of Monachil, is about 31 km from Granada, 35 to 40 minutes by car on a mountain road (Granada Direct). The season bus from Granada bus station costs €5 one way or €9 return, but the last one down leaves at 6:30pm, before La Chimenea even opens. A 7am finish really only works if you are staying in Pradollano. If not, plan a taxi or a car with a driver who stays sober. Estiber recommends taxis as the safest late-night option.

Who it suits

If Mango is the student end of the night, La Chimenea is for people who want a good drink, music they can sing along to and a seat near the fire. Salir's description, refined, stylishly renovated and with champagne on offer, points to a slightly more grown-up night, although we haven't found any published minimum age or dress code. For dinner beforehand, Estiber recommends tapas at El Cartujano or La Bodega in Pradollano.
