Planta Baja Granada: Gig and Club Agenda on Horno de Abad

· Updated:

Planta Baja is a concert venue and club on Calle Horno de Abad 11, in the centre of Granada, Spain, open since 1989. It holds around 300 people, has gigs most nights of the week and, once the band is done, DJs take over and the room becomes a club. Its Instagram bio calls it a concert hall and club “since 1989” and carries the rainbow flag.

Thirty-plus years of live music

Taquilla.com ties the venue's roots to the early 1980s, the years of Granada's so-called Universidad del Rock and its alternative art scene, and says the founders wanted a place where different artistic disciplines could talk to each other. That spirit still shows in the programme: local bands share the calendar with touring acts, and the venue runs a contest for Granada bands and artists that reached its 13th edition, Emergentes 2026.

How a night works: gig first, club after

The usual pattern is a concert in the evening followed by DJ sets. There are two spaces: according to Taquilla.com the upper floor works as a separate pub, and DJs play in both after the gigs. In the venue's own agenda you will see club nights with their own names, which repeat through the season: CrankyClub, Orpheo Club, Total Break, Electro-Loser Soundsystem, Quicktime or Vulturi, plus DJ sessions in Sala A. Concert cycles also have names, such as Serpiente Negra Presenta, which brings smaller touring bands.

Plantarde, the afternoon session

Plantarde is Planta Baja's afternoon DJ session in Sala A, held at weekends. The venue has announced it on Saturdays at 4:30pm with free entry, and in late October 2026 it is on the calendar for both Friday and Saturday. It is a good way to see the room before a big night out, or to go dancing without staying up until dawn. Our tardeo guide has the other afternoon options in Granada.

What to expect

If you like indie, rock and alternative DJ sets, it is one of the classic stops in central Granada; our indie, rock and live music guide puts it next to the other rooms in town.
